Product Details

SystemShield HTAP Kit — 3FT

Short Description

Compact HTAP grounding and bonding kit built around a pre-grouped compression H-tap connector sub-assembly, a 3 ft #6 AWG prepared conductor, a 12-position brass grounding bar on insulated base, compact mounting hardware, and cable-management ties. This finished kit is structured as a controlled SystemShield installation package for compact run-to-tap grounding and bonding applications.

Product Overview

The SystemShield HTAP Kit — 3FT is the finished HTAP-based compact kit product in the SystemShield catalog. It is built as a controlled finished kit, not as a loose assortment of connector, wire, bar, and hardware parts. That means the required HTAP connector package, conductor, grounding bar, compact mounting hardware, and cable-management items are intentionally grouped into one managed installation set.

This finished kit is centered around the SystemShield HTAP Connector Sub-Assembly, which combines a wide-range compression H-tap and its matched insulating cover. Current matching connector-family listings support the compression-tap class as a wide-range aluminum compression tap with 600 V rating, standard compression tools and dies, formable ribs, fold-in tabs, and reversible construction. Current matching cover-family listings support the matched cover as a hinged insulating cover for WRD series D-die taps up to 2-1/2 in long, with dual rated insulated, drain ports, and ultraviolet stabilization.

The finished kit also includes a #6 AWG Green THHN/THWN-2 Stranded Copper — 3 ft — Pre-Stripped Both Ends conductor, a 12-position brass grounding bar on insulated base, the compact SystemShield HTAP Mini Hardware Kit, and black nylon zip ties for bundle retention and routing. The included grounding-bar class is a compact insulated-base brass grounding / terminal bar, not a large standoff telecom busbar. Current market listings for this compact class consistently show 12-position brass bars on insulating bases with representative dimensions around 120 to 122 mm length depending on exact supplier version.

The included cable-tie class is a black nylon 6.6 tie in the 8 in to 12 in family. Current matching technical listings for this class show typical component-family properties such as 50 lb minimum loop tensile strength, UL 94 V-2 flammability classification, operating range around -40°C to +85°C, and references to ANSI/UL 62275 and CSA C22.2 No. 62275. Those are component-level family properties for the included tie class, not certification claims for the complete finished kit.

What’s Included

  • (1) SystemShield HTAP Connector Sub-Assembly
  • (1) #6 AWG Green THHN/THWN-2 Stranded Copper — 3 ft — Pre-Stripped Both Ends
  • (1) 12-Position Brass Grounding Bar on Insulated Base
  • (1) SystemShield HTAP Mini Hardware Kit
  • (4) Black Nylon Zip Tie — 8 in to 12 in

Typical Applications

  • Compact HTAP grounding and bonding installations
  • Run-to-tap conductor connection packages inside cabinets and enclosures
  • Rack, rail, and equipment grounding / bonding layouts requiring a compact prepared kit
  • Connector-package staging for field deployment
  • SystemShield finished-kit use where a grouped HTAP package is preferred over separately sourced parts

Compatibility

  • SystemShield HTAP Connector Sub-Assembly as the primary run-to-tap connector package
  • #6 AWG Green THHN/THWN-2 Stranded Copper — 3 ft — Pre-Stripped Both Ends as the included compact conductor assembly
  • 12-Position Brass Grounding Bar on Insulated Base as the primary conductor landing point
  • Cabinet, enclosure, rack, rail, and equipment mounting points that match the included mini hardware kit thread families
  • Square-hole rail installations using compatible cage-nut hardware families, which current rack-hardware references show are commonly offered in 10-32, 12-24, and M6 systems

Built from:

  • SystemShield HTAP Connector Sub-Assembly
  • #6 AWG Green THHN/THWN-2 Stranded Copper — 3 ft — Pre-Stripped Both Ends
  • 12-Position Brass Grounding Bar on Insulated Base
  • SystemShield HTAP Mini Hardware Kit
  • Black Nylon Zip Tie — 8 in to 12 in

Not intended as:

  • A loose-parts assortment without installation context
  • A substitute for application-specific engineering review where conductor routing, connector fit, mounting format, or grounding design must be verified
  • A claim that the finished kit itself is separately UL listed or UL certified as a complete assembled kit

Installation Notes

  1. Use the included connector package, conductor, grounding bar, and mounting hardware only where the receiving equipment, mounting environment, and grounding / bonding design match the installation requirements. Because this finished kit contains a compression-tap connection and a compact mixed-hardware sub-assembly, the installer must select the correct hardware and confirm the conductor and connector fit for the actual installation point.
  2. The included HTAP connector package should be installed with the correct compression tooling and die family for the supplied connector variant. Current matching connector-family listings describe installation with standard compression tools and dies, while the matched cover class is intended for WRD series D-die taps up to 2-1/2 in long and is applied after the connector is fully crimped and inspected.
  3. Verify conductor routing requirements, connector / die-family match, grounding-bar mounting format, hardware-thread match at each mounting point, and application requirements before installation.

Compliance & Regulatory Information

This finished kit is built from individual component classes that may have their own separate material, dimensional, and product-family characteristics. Components may be UL listed or UL recognized where applicable.

This product should be described as a finished HTAP grounding / bonding kit built from controlled components and sub-assemblies. It should not be described as a UL listed kit or UL certified kit unless that exact complete assembled kit certification exists independently.

Current source material supports the included connector family as a wide-range compression-tap class, the included cover family as an insulating cover for WRD series D-die taps up to 2-1/2 in long, and the included cable-tie family with ANSI/UL 62275, CSA C22.2 No. 62275, and UL 94 V-2 component-family references. Those references support the component classes only and do not by themselves establish a full-kit certification claim.

Final suitability depends on the installation design, the mounted equipment, the selected hardware from within the included mini hardware kit, and the actual grounding / bonding application requirements.

Packaging & Handling

  • Protect against conductor damage
  • Protect against connector damage
  • Protect against cover damage
  • Protect against grounding-bar damage
  • Protect against mixed-hardware count loss

Store in a clean, dry environment before installation. Do not use damaged conductors, bent connectors, cracked covers, damaged hardware, cracked ties, or compromised grounding bars.

Notes / Limitations

This product is a finished grounding / bonding kit, not a single loose component.

  • Final suitability depends on correct installation layout
  • Correct conductor and connector match are required
  • Correct hardware selection from the included mini kit is required
  • Proper installation practices are required
  • Actual application requirements must be verified
