SystemShield H-TapGrounding Kit — 1/0 RUN — 6 AWG TAP — Clear Cover — 3 ft #6 Lead

Purpose: Dual-rated CU/AL compression H-tap kit for adding a grounded #6 lead from a 1/0 run and landing it on a dedicated grounding bar. Tin-plated aluminum body with matching black snap-on cover, #6 green lead, grounding bar, and rack-mount hardware. Components are UL listed/recognized individually; final assembly and installation are performed in the field per NEC Article 250 and project specifications.

KIT CONTENTS

• Dual-rated CU/AL compression H-tap, size 1/0 RUN → 6 AWG TAP, tin-plated aluminum body (die index marked)
• Black snap-on insulating cover (size-matched to the H-tap)
• #6 AWG green THHN/THWN-2 copper lead — 3 ft, pre-stripped approximately 1" at both ends, no lugs pre-crimped (installer terminates to project-specified hardware)
• 12-position brass grounding bar on insulating base for landing the #6 lead and additional grounds
• Cable management: (2) black zip ties

• 10-32 × 1/2" pan-head machine screws — 2 pcs

Note: Rack hardware is limited to what is required to mount the grounding bar to common equipment racks and rails. Multiple screw thread sizes are included so installers can match the bar to 10-32, 10-24, M5, or M4 rack hardware without hunting for extra fasteners.

INSTALLATION & COMPATIBILITY

• CU/AL use: H-tap is dual-rated for copper or aluminum RUN; provided TAP lead is copper (#6 AWG green).
• Field terminations only: The 3 ft #6 lead is supplied with pre-stripped bare ends (about 1" each) and no factory-installed lugs. Installers choose and crimp lugs or pads required by their project and spec.
• Crimping: Prepare conductors and crimp using the manufacturer-specified tool and die index. Verify the die imprint matches the connector marking.
• Bar installation: Mount the included 12-position brass grounding bar to the rack or cabinet using whichever pair of screws best matches the rack (10-32, 10-24, M5, M4, or cage-nut sets), then land the #6 lead and other grounds per your site standard.
• Cover engagement: After crimping, fully engage the black snap-on cover before energizing or bonding.
• Code reference: Bond and route per NEC Article 250, your telecom grounding spec, and any project drawings.

This kit is a point solution for tying an existing 1/0 run into a #6 tail and a dedicated grounding bar in equipment racks and cabinets.
